International tourism has become more popular in recent decades. However, this can have a considerable impact on the countries which attract large numbers of visitors. What positive and negative effects does tourism have on countries which are popular destinations?

To begin
with , most of the tourists who are travelling to these world popular countries are young generations . Furthermore
, they are the parts of society that active in sexuality and involved in most of the narcotic drug consumption in society. Unfortunately, when this
group ended up in these popular tourist destinations
, local communities will invariably experience problems
like drug trafficking and sexually transmitted diseases. For instance
, according to the information from the health authorities in Sri Lanka , the number of HIV infected persons has been doubled in this
decade compared to the last
decade , mainly in famous tourist destinations
like Ella and Chillow.
However
, with the development of this
industry
,life has changed for most of the citizens in these popular travelling destinations
. furthermore
, there have been some major developments in the infrastructure and basic-human facilities in these countries in view of attracting more number of tourists and indirectly this
has been benefited the locals as well . For instance
, according to the Sri Lankan central bank around 25% of the country's GDP has come through the tourism
industry
and 30% of the working population ,involved in jobs related to the tourism
industry
during the last
decade.
In conclusion , the worldwide tourism
industry
has been improving for the last
few decades and people have been getting benefits economically although
they have been facing some increased social and health-related problems
