Nowadays many people choose to be self-employed, rather than to work for a company or organisation. Why might this be the case? What could be the disadvantage of being self-employed?

In recent times, the masses opt to
work
for themselves as opposed to being in full-time employment.
This
is usually due to a higher monthly
income
and flexible working schedules even though at times they face negatives in that a change to the economy of a country often results in a loss of
business
. In
this
essay, I will tackle
this
issue and offer a conclusion.
First
and foremost, the major causes for
people
prefer to
work
independently is because it accords them a chance to earn higher salaries.
In other words
, unlike a
person
with a fixed monthly
income
in full-time employment, these are at liberty to raise their
income
significantly at any given time.
This
enables self-employed individuals to remain economically stable than full-time employees and gives them more reason to remain as
such
. The
second
reason related to the
first
is that
,

people
who
work
for themselves have a flexible schedule one which they can be able to alter in order to suit their immediate needs. Take,
for example
, rather than following a strict routine set by a company or an organisation, a
person
working independently can change the times to report for and knock off from
work
.
This
gives him more time to attend to more urgent matters at will unlike a
person
working for a company. Disadvantages that results from being self-employed. These include problems like illnesses and lack of customers. To put
this
in perspective, since self-employed
people
depend on their
business
for
income
, anything that may prevent them from running their businesses even for a day cripples their salaries even
further
.
For instance
, in the case of illness where a
person
does not manage to attend to his
business
for a day, it means that his company losses out on profit for that day. In the long run, the
business
deteriorates even
further
.
Additionally
, once the target market is no longer interested in the product on sale,
then
a self-employed
person
will remain with no source of
income
and might ultimately close down his
business
. By way of conclusion,
although
being self-employed may seem to be a positive development as it accords one a chance to earn more money and an opportunity to alter his working schedule, it often leads to the closure of the
business
once the customers stop buying the products and when a
person
falls ill.
This
constitutes why certain
people
prefer being in full-time employment to being self-employed.
