An English-speaking friend has written to you to ask you how your English studies are going.
Write a letter telling your friend about your progress. In your letter say what progress you are making describe the study methods and any materials you are using say what you find most difficult

Dear John, It's been so long since I'
ve
heard from you, I hope you are doing well. I am pretty great despite working very hard lately. Anyway, the reason I'm writing is to give you a follow up about my progress in learning English. Let me start by highlighting that I'
ve
improved my listening skills, as now I am able to watch movies without subtitles, and still get the main idea on each part of it. As you suggested the
last
time we talked, I'
ve
been reading more and using audiobooks, in order to develop both skills at the same time. Moving onto the methodology I applied in order to reach
such
achievements I'
ve
started listening to podcasts from a variety of topics,
such
as crime, music and news.
In addition
, I'm using a vocabulary book that has a wide range of topics and main related words.
Finally
, I still consider learning English a challenge, especially regarding all the different meanings of phrasal verbs. Honestly, I don't know how you can keep all of that in your memory. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, Christina Smith

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
