Read the question below and write a letter. You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Write at least 150 words. You recently visited a place that had a strong impact on you. Write to your friend about this place. In your letter explain where the place was and how you got there describe what you saw offer to take your friend there

Dear Amrita, I hope you're having a wonderful time, and it's been a long time since we've seen each other. I'm writing to tell you about a lovely destination I visited a few days ago that has left a lasting impression on me. The location is called Rock Garden and it is located in Chandigarh. There are other routes to go there, including jeep, train, and plane, but I choose to use the bus because it is the most convenient mode of transportation. To get there, I boarded a bus from the city to the depot, and once there, I took a local minibus to my destination. After arriving at the location, I went through a little gate and was immediately struck by the creative work on the walls, where observed a lot of idols created out of waste materials like plastics and shattered glasses. Aside from that, there is a lovely waterfall where I snapped photographs with my buddies. I stayed at that venue all day and returned at midnight.
Finally
, I want you to go there and take in the breathtaking vistas. If you're available next weekend, we can go there and enjoy it. I look forward to meeting you soon. Best wishes, Nithisha

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
