Some people think there should be free health care for all people, but others disagree. Discuss both sides.
It is often argued by some that health care should be available to anyone without a fee. There are both advantages and disadvantages to
this
. In this
essay, I will discuss both views in detail.
On the one hand, some believe that it should be free because there are many benefits for every citizen. Firstly
, the greatest benefit is that it gives people
the ability to access services for well-being regardless of their income. Any citizen even those who have a low income can get decent medical checks. As a consequence, it can save many lives. Secondly
, it reduces the risk of spreading diseases in the community. For example
, an infectious disease such
as flu can be prevented by getting vaccines. If some people
do not get the appropriate aid that is
necessary, they may spread disease and might cause an epidemic in society.
On the other hand
, it is undeniable that several negative outcomes arise along with the aforementioned positive sides and some people
argue it should not be free. To begin
with, it requires each individual to pay the same amount of money, regardless of their actual physical condition. This
effectively leaves healthy people
paying for the care of sick citizens. To give a clear example, folks who are in good condition and persons who are suffering from cancer are both obligated to pay $50 a month in Japan. In addition
to that, there may be a problem dealing with a large number of patients. Hence
, some elective procedures require 9 to 12 months of waiting in some countries.
To conclude, it is a controversial issue because it may have some benefits such
as giving everyone opportunities to take the aids they need and it may prevent an epidemic in society. However
, there are also
drawbacks to it as well.Submitted by yyurienn on
