Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree? What other measures do you think might be effective?

Hicking gas prices have been deemed as the most effective way of combating the challenges of an increased number of vehicles and their harm to the environment. I completely disagree with that notion.
This
essay will discuss why making fuel expensive only leads to excessive
use
of
cars
instead
and how bicycle schemes can successfully deal with the issues of nature. If oil prices are raised,
this
could only lead to
further
use
of
cars
as people begin to utilize them in ways that they would not do under normal circumstances. To put
this
in perspective, many individuals would be using their
cars
more often in trying to run several errands in a single day in an effort to reserve the expensive fuel in their car.
For instance
, a person who only covers 10 km per day will eventually be covering more than 20 km
instead
as a result
of trying to accomplish all of the day's activities while minimising movements.
This
would result in
further
hazards to the environment and more vehicles on the roads. Alternatively, these problems could be overcome by introducing bicycle schemes in cities.
This
means that rather than using
cars
as the main mode of transportation, people
use
bicycles
instead
. Take,
for example
, the city of Amsterdam where
this
scheme has been implemented successfully, more than 60 per cents of greenhouse gas production has disappeared and only a marginal number of
cars
are on the roads.
This
would not only ensure fewer
cars
on the roads but would
also
eliminate the concern of conserving the environment By way of conclusion, I completely disagree with the
use
of fuel prices as means of controlling traffic and managing pollution because it promotes it
instead
. Rather, bicycles schemes can be effective in
this
regard.
