Some people believe that teenagers should be required to do unpaid community work in their free time. This can beneficial for teenagers and the community as well. Do you agree or disagree?

Teenagers
spend most of their
time
in
school
without any contact with real society, and many of them play video games after
school
. So some people believe that it is beneficial both for the
community
and
teenagers
if students are required to do
community
work
in their free
time
.
However
, I strongly oppose
this
idea because I believe
teenagers
have plenty of better options for their spare
time
and their
work
quality can be questioned if they are required to do
work
after
school
.
To begin
with, there are plenty of choices that are much better than
community
work
.
For instance
, they can develop hobbies, read books, and participate in social activities. They can even do paid part-
time
jobs
if they want to experience what
work
means. And if
work
is paid, it can be easily evaluated whether
this
work
is more valuable than playing the piano at home. Unpaid
jobs
are less valuable than paid ones, and
teenagers
may even choose other valuable activities rather than paid
jobs
. In
this
case, it is hard to say
community
work
is the best choice for teens' free
time
.
Secondly
, I doubt the quality of mandatory, after-
school
work
from

youngsters. I assume most of their
work
can not meet the standard of the
community
. To illustrate, homework is one of the things which are mandatory in juveniles' free
time
. With the apparent benefit and strict supervision, they still can not deliver their
work
on
time
.
Community
work
which is far more difficult than homework won't be done to high standards
accordingly
.
Thus
required free
work
from juveniles can hardly help communities to reduce their workload. To conclude, requiring students to participate in unpaid
work
after
school
is unwise because students have plenty of better options and the delivery can never meet the standard of the
community
. Alternatively, the
community
can open some part-
time
jobs
for teens. In
this
way, teens will treat the
work
more seriously and, as a consequence, both will benefit more.
