The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.

The maps compare the changes in Grand
Park
from 1920 to today. Overall, the
Park
has changed mainly related to entertainment. In 1920, the
park
had two entrances on Arnold Avenue and Eldon Street. There were
also
three
rose
gardens. In the centre of the
park
, a fountain was located and on the left side of it, there was a stage for musicians. There were five seats around the
park
. On the right side of the Eldon street entrance, there was a glasshouse and the
park
had
also
a pond for water plants
next
to a
rose
garden
near Arnold Avenue. Today, the entrances have remained unchanged. The
rose
garden
next
to the pond was converted to a café and the other one near Eldon Street was demolished.
However
, the location of the
rose
garden
which was near Arnold Avenue did not change and another
rose
garden
was built in place of the fountain with four seats around it. The stage was turned into an Amphitheatre for concerts.
Moreover
, the pond and the glasshouse were destroyed to make way for the children’s play area and water feature.
Finally
, leading to the water feature a new entrance was constructed for an underground car
park
.
