You have just read an article in an international travel magazine which contained some information about your town that is incorrect. Write a letter to the editor of the magazine. In your letter • Correct the information in the article • Explain why it is important for the magazine to give correct information • Suggest what the magazine should do about this situation
Dear Mr Smith,
I am writing regarding the article about travelling to Tehran that you recently published in your magazine.
Although
I have considered your magazine the most respectable one in this
field worldwide, I found some errors in this
article that I want to inform you.
There is a paragraph concerning the danger of going outside after midnight. I can assure you that the government implements the necessary safeguards to generate a safe condition for regular folks. People can see officers patrolling at night who convey the feeling of safety to visitors. Moreover
, it is mentioned that there is no chance of finding food after 11 pm. As Tehran is a lively city, there are many cafes and restaurants that are kept open even after midnight.
As most tourists turn to and rely on the content of your magazine, you must publish truthful information. Thus
, travellers will read and rely on your written articles without being bewildered when they arrive at their destinations.
So, I would like to suggest revising the mentioned publication and republishing it next
week. I propose that you can highlight it or write it in a box to draw the readers’ attention.
I look forward to seeing the revised report.
Kind regard,
