Because of the rising cost of living, many young people are increasingly being forced to live with their parents into their 30's. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
In today's world, accommodation costs have undoubtedly increased due to inflation caused by the pandemic. Most youngsters have insisted to stay with their
parents
because of the surge in rent. Some people believe it is a negative trend, however
, I feel this
is a positive trend and I will elucidate the reasons behind my opinion in this
essay.
There are various benefits to living in the same home as our parents
. The first
one is if the place is a rented or leased house, then
the money could be shared. The more the savings, the more it can be either invested or used for other purposes such
as education and medical expenses. During the Covid lockdown, most people needed a lot of financial support for medication. The other reason is family bonding. The relationship between families will be strengthened as a result
of living together. Although
it is a bit expensive, the value grandparents bring to the table is amazing. They share their life experiences as well as teach their grandchildren moral values. Hence
, living together has significant benefits.
Despite the positive effects, there are a few disadvantages when cohabitating with parents
. While it is beneficial for children who do not have a fixed income, it will be burdensome for parents
especially
those who are retired and those who live on pensions. The addition of one more adult is going to tremendously increase their costs because Add the comma(s)
,especially
parents
need to pay not only for offspring's food but also
for medical emergencies and other bills such
as electricity, and gas. If children also
contribute to the house expenditure, it may fully compensate for all expenses. Also
, this
may create a psychological effect on parents
when their children are not independent.
In conclusion, more young people are living with their parents
because of soaring prices. Even though it is a bit expensive to stay together, they can save money,
and helps to improve bonding between them.Remove the comma
