Some universities now offer their courses on the Internet so that people can study online. Is this a positive or negative development? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Online medium of education is becoming increasingly popular in recent past years and has gained much more scholarly attention.
Although
, studying online using the
internet
does more harm than good or vice-versa is a debatable topic.
This
essay will discuss the benefits and drawbacks associated with both and provide evidence as to why
such
a system of education has several strong elements that deserve attention. Admittedly, it is true that
Internet
has made a significant impact on the current educational system. To support it I can say, Its a most convenient mode of delivering
lectures
to the
students
located in the remote cities.
For
example
, International
students
can now enrol on any distance learning courses in a well-recognised University without physically moving to the city.
This
saves them from the cost of transport as well as on time. The
second
significant reason is, that online courses offer flexibility for the
students
doing part-time jobs.
For
example
, when I was doing my graduate Diploma in Early Childhood on Zoom online platform, It gave me the flexibility to do my placements in the morning while my University
lectures
in the evening.
Thus
it helped me in completing my course on time. As every positivity comes with some sort of negativity, So there are some demerits
also
. The
first
and foremost is, that the online platform lacks the development of social skills in the
students
.
For
example
, studying online creates a sense of isolation because
lectures
lack face to face communication and interaction between the
students
. The
second
considerable reason is, its dependency on the
internet
,
for
example
, online
lectures
work with the support of servers and networks, if the server is down or the speed of the
internet
is low, it would directly impact the quality of
lectures
in the class. To conclude,
although
both sides have merits and concerns. In my opinion, the
first
approach has many favourable elements because of the reasons outlined above.
