Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather than secondary school. Do the advantages of this outwiegh the disadvantages?

It is believed that learning a non-native
language
for
students
is a more useful start in primary
school
in comparison with secondary
school
. From my perspective,
although
there are some problems with
this
view, the advantages outweigh them due to having a high ability to learn a foreign
language
at an early age. Primary
school
students
are confronted with some obstacles during learning a foreign
language
. As
children
spend their early years of education at primary
school
, they might be perplexed when they learn their mother tongue and a foreign
one
simultaneously. Their brain would be under the pressure of learning different vocabularies for the same things in two languages.
For example
, the
students
are taught how to make sentences with the same meaning in the foreign
language
and their national
one
. So they feel confused to switch continually between two languages, and they
also
may get disappointed with their performance through
this
process. In comparison, the
students
in secondary
school
have approximately overcome their national
language
in primary
school
and they are more prepared to learn a new
one
.
Therefore
, the difficulties of
this
view have psychologically adverse effects on
children
rather than teenagers.
Children
are claimed to learn a non-native
language
easily and efficiently at an early age rather than those who begin it in secondary
school
.
For instance
, my niece who is living in Iran and is five years of age has learned to talk in English through watching American cartoons on a daily basis since 3 years old.
Although
she is not able to read and write neither her mother tongue nor English
Correct pronoun usage
apply

one
, she almost completely comprehends what the characters say. So
children
have a higher potential to learn a foreign
language
when they begin education in primary schools.
Thus
, by teaching a non-native
language
to
children
from earlier ages, they could reach advanced levels sooner, which has many advantages,
such
as communicating with foreigners, being able to watch their films, read their books and papers to increase knowledge. In conclusion, in my opinion, learning a foreign
language
from primary
school
has many advantages, which outweigh its drawbacks.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
