Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing
this
letter to ask for a favour. I had a meeting in your Linking Words
hotel
and I left some personal documents there.
I came to your Use synonyms
hotel
on May 23 regarding an office meeting. Our Use synonyms
company
book a mini-conference hall for 20 people at 1:00 PM followed by lunch in the Use synonyms
hotel
's restaurant at noon. After that, around 4 PM, we left the Use synonyms
hotel
. As I remembered, I Use synonyms
last
saw those Linking Words
papers
in the meeting room. Those Use synonyms
papers
are in a black plastic bag and our Use synonyms
company
logo and name are printed on both sides of the bag.
Those Use synonyms
papers
are important for me as they have our client's detail which we do not enclose with anyone. Use synonyms
Also
, if those Linking Words
papers
fall into the wrong hands, it can result in great loss for my Use synonyms
company
.
If you can check those Use synonyms
papers
in the meeting room or with your staff and let us know if they found them. You can write a letter or just give us a call at our Use synonyms
company
number. I will arrange a pick up from your Use synonyms
hotel
.
I appreciate any help on Use synonyms
this
.
Yours faithfully,

The Greeting
Depending on the style and aim of the letter, you will need to adapt your greeting.
Always start an informal letter in the ways:
- Dear + name
- Hi / Hello + name
‘Dear...’ is more appropriate, so stick with this.
For a formal letter there are two options for the greeting:
- Use Dear Sir or Madam if you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to.
- Use Dear + surname if you do know their name, e.g. Dear Mr Smith or Dear Mrs Jones.
