It is commonly argued whether

media
 should use
pictures
 on

 reports to gain their authenticity. In my opinion, photos on newspapers and
news
 channels can let
people
 more understand the
situations
, but photographs
also
 can mislead the public's views on certain topics and bring some negative impacts to
people
. On the on hand, photographs which are taken at right time can show real
situations
 at that moment. Nowadays, lots of fake
news
 spreading on the internet, and the public are hard to distinguish between real
news
 and fake information when they only see words. If
news
media
 not only describe cases in words and
also
 provide
pictures
 taken at events scene,
people
 can know more about the
situations
 and are more willing to trust them.
However
, to attract
people
’s attention and increase popularity,
news
media
 use a lot of photos when they report social cases even those including terrible crime scenes. These bloody, horrible, and uncomfortable
pictures
 let
people
 not focus on the reason in the case and how to prevent similar
situations
 happened in the future,
by contrast
, they become more interested in those brutal attacks.
Moreover
, the same
pictures
 can become many different stories depending on how the editors want to talk.
This
 bias usually happens on political topics because most
media
 have their preferences, and
people
 may be misled due to the
media
’s prejudice. In conclusion, photographs can let the public easier to comprehend
news
 than words, but the unsuitable photos and the editors’ preferences will make
news
 less authentic.
