Write a letter to the US embassy to change the date of your appointment
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing
this
email to seek your help to update our US Visa interview appointment dates.
I mistakenly rescheduled my previous appointment from 28th September 2023 to 1st February 2024. I am meaning to have an earlier schedule, so when I saw there is a slot in February, I immediately rescheduled it without noticing that the year was 2024 and not 2023. This
was an oversight on my part.
I would really appreciate it if you can change my interview appointment to its original date of September 28, 2023. We are planning to have holidays in the US in December next
year hence
, rescheduling this
will enable us to spend our time with our relatives during those important occasions.
I apologize for the inconvenience this
might cause you. I hope you can consider this
request and help us to resolve this
matter.
Yours faithfully,
Zenaida MaraburSubmitted by lonathem on

The Greeting
Depending on the style and aim of the letter, you will need to adapt your greeting.
Always start an informal letter in the ways:
- Dear + name
- Hi / Hello + name
‘Dear...’ is more appropriate, so stick with this.
For a formal letter there are two options for the greeting:
- Use Dear Sir or Madam if you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to.
- Use Dear + surname if you do know their name, e.g. Dear Mr Smith or Dear Mrs Jones.
