some say that children should do unpaid community work, and some say it is not important for their development. How much do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Children are the building blocks of any nation. While a lot of people believe that many adolescents should indulge in community
work
 for free, others argue that
this
 may not be a good idea. In
this
 essay, I will discuss both sides of the argument, whilst I support the former opinion. On the one
hand
, some people opine that it is better that teenagers should divert their attention elsewhere rather than doing a few unpaid jobs for society. The reason for
this
 is that adolescence is an apt time for them to build a strong character and a personality, which, in turn, will help them to develop better professional careers ahead of their lives. To illustrate, a child may use their idle time to learn a new language or follow some hobbies, steering them ahead of cut-throat competition.
In contrast
, they can
work
hand
 in
hand
 with their fellow peers to give something back to their people, once they become fully-grown adults.
On the other
hand
, I would argue that teenagers should do a bit of social
work
 for their neighbourhood.
This
 is due to the fact that they will become aware of multiple dos and don’ts at the early stages of their life cycle, warranting them to follow the path of righteousness. To illustrate, a child can learn a lot about their own faith, while offering themselves for public tasks at church.
In contrast
, if they don’t take up any social responsibilities at
this
 age, they would never able be to learn the joy of giving back. Having looked at both sides,
although
 utilising their time wisely to build better lives for themselves may lead to better professional careers for some, I think, it is better they indulge in some community
work
 since it will guide them about what is morally right or wrong.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.
