Some people say that the best way to improve public health is by increasing the number of sports facilities. Others, however, say that this would have little effect on public health and that other measures are required. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

In
this
day and age, there have been divided opinions on whether providing more
sports
centres and clubs

or other ways are more helpful. While some
people
believe that
sports
services are the best way, I contend that proper
health
education is a better measure. On the one hand, there is no denying that
people
’s
health
has been greatly enhanced thanks to the increasing number of
sports
centres.
Firstly
, modern
sports
equipment helps
people
to keep in shape and ameliorate
people
’s
health
.
Moreover
, each
sports
club has its own
sports
trainers to help the clients to do gym and use equipment properly. For
people
who don’t have a place to do exercise or can’t afford modern
sports
facilities, a
sports
centre is the best solution.
However
, what about other
people
who don't have awareness about doing exercises?
On the other hand
, an increase in
sports
facilities might help some
people
become healthier but it is worthless for unconscious
people
. Most
health
problems stem from a lack of motivation.
For example
, Cambridge University found in a recent study that 62% of men and women who paid for an annual gym membership failed to go entirely after just one month.
Therefore
, I think that raising
people
’s awareness of protecting their own
health
is the best method.
This
is all because
people
are unaware of the harm they are doing to themselves by not exercising regularly. Not only do they exercise irregularly but some
people
also
eat and work unscientifically and only go to see a doctor when they have diseases.
That is
the reason why
health
education is a top priority to improve
people
’s
health
. In conclusion,
although
many
people
believe that
sports
facilities are the most effective method to enhance human
health
because they are modern and convenient, I am more convinced that self-
health
care education is the best measure to solve the root problem.

Support ideas with relevant, specific examples

Examples make your writing easier to understand by illustrating points more effectively.

Examples, if used properly, not only help you get higher marks for ‘Task Response’ but also for ‘Coherence’.

When giving examples it is best to put them after your main idea or topic sentence. They can be used in the middle of supporting sentences or they can be used to start a new sentence. There is no rule for where exactly to give examples in essays, logically they would come after your main idea/topic sentence or just after a supporting sentence.

Linking words for giving examples:

  • for example
  • for instance
  • to illustrate this
  • to give a clear example
  • such as
  • namely
  • to illustrate
  • take, for example
