Some people believe that violence on television and in computer games has a damaging effect on society. Others deny that these have any significant influence on people's behaviour. What is your opinion?

There is a debate on whether the violent content
that is
represented through television and other computer devices can have a negative impact on society, while some people argue against
this
.
This
essay will discuss the disadvantages of
this
presentation on people’s perceptions.
First
of all, some of the contents encourage people of
such
behaviour, whether it is acceptable or not, especially for children and teenagers. Take as an example, when watching a tv series that represents the stealer as a hero because he steals for a good cause,
such
as to save his or her sick child. The audience might think that stealing can be excusable when it is for good reason, which ignores the laws. To illustrates, what we watch can automatically influence our perception, which in return, affects our behaviour as citizens.
Moreover
, imitation is a way of learning, especially for children. Children,
for instance
, will often repeat the taboo words they hear in games or on tv.
Furthermore
, they might start utilising these words.
This
is, in fact, not only specific to immature people.
Similarly
to the influence of marketing, it is more likely that manners can
also
be transformed through media and impacted the communities. Personally, I still remember the cartoons that I watched as a child, which taught me a lot of lessons.
This
essay discussed the competing views of whether society can be impacted by the violent content on television and computer games.
However
, I strongly believe that violence should be prevented
as a result
of its negative impact, specifically from children’s games and shows.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
