You are going to spend your vacation in Rome, Italy. Your friend's grandfather lives there and has offered to let you stay in his apartment. Write a letter to your friend's grandfather. In your letter: Thank him for the offer but politely decline infrom him of when you will be in Rome and your travel plans invite him for an outing.
Dear Sam,
I hope you and your family are in good spirits. Ravi, your grand-son, asked me to convey his greetings. I received your letter the other day and I am thrilled that you have invited me to stay over at your residence while I am on holiday in Italy.
To tell you the truth, I will be visiting Italy for a day and, while I am there, I am going to explore a handful of historic and heritage monuments as recommended by a friend of mine, Mr Ricki. What's more, I have to travel to France by catching a ferry that day, departing at 9:00 Pm.
Therefore
, I will not be able to stay with you, however
, I thank you for the courtesy extended.
That being said, I would like to invite you instead
to join my wife, Susan, and me for a lovely brunch at the Big Chill Cafe in Rome if you are free. Also
, suggest me
some places that I may explore during my visit to Rome.
Warm regards,
