Write a letter to your friend about missing the date with him on a day because you have planned. Tell him how you tried to contact him but it did not work out either. In your letter, you should tell: what the reason is how you tried to contact him give an alternative plan to meet him sometime.

Dear Jacob, I hope you are doing fine. I am very sorry that I missed our date the other day. It was very late at night when I received a call from my mother because my father got into an accident. So, I immediately drove to my hometown to check on them, and fortunately, he is fine now. Anyway, as I was not sure if you were still awake at that moment, I decided that I will contact you when I arrive at the hospital, but when I reached there, I discovered that I didn’t have any cell service. I tried contacting you through my mother's phone but you didn’t answer. I just got back, and I'm wondering if you’re still up for a dinner with me. If so, I am available tomorrow and on Wednesday. If you're not free
then
, please let me know when are you available and I'll try my best to make it. I hope to hear from you soon. All the best, Mary
