It is generally accepted that exercise is good for children and teenagers. Therefore, physical education and sport should be compulsory for all students in all schools What do you think?

Today, 30% of the
children
in developed countries are struggling with obesity.
Therefore
some believe that it is important to introduce a subject related to physical
education
and to push every student to be involved in
sports
activities
.
This
essay will discuss why
schools
should give more attention to
this
area and how it benefits
children
in the long run. In general,
schools
allocated a lot of
time
to
education
but they hardly give more attention to physical
activities
such
as
sports
and exercise.
As a result
, some students end up being overweight. Obesity has become a huge concern for many countries, especially among
children
.
In addition
, due to the lack of movement in
children
`s bodies, we could witness that many students are getting sick more often. A recent survey done at the
Education
Centre of Sri Lanka ( ECS ) shows that during the
last
5 years,
children
`s absence rates due to sickness have increased by 50%. The above two examples clearly show why it is important for
schools
to allocate more
time
to physical
activities
. Most
schools
are money oriented and they feel students' educational qualifications will help them to spread their brand name across.
Therefore
It is important for the government to step up and ask
schools
to allocate at least 07 hours of physical
education
or
sports
activities
during school
time
. By making it compulsory, it will surely help
children
to be more active and to have a healthy lifestyle. In conclusion, Nowadays
children
tend to get sick quite easily and struggle with obesity due to a lack of
education
and involvement in physical
activities
.
Therefore
, in my opinion,
schools
should allocate more
time
to
sports
and educate
children
on the importance of taking care of their health.
