Some people think that cities are the best places to live. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of living in a big city.

It would be a perfect world if resources were distributed equally in every part of the country but it is certainly not the case. Especially in most developing countries including Thailand, where government and central authorities are putting more resources into big
cities
 and metropolitan
areas
 like Bangkok and vicinity than every other part of the country.
As a result
, more and more
people
 opt out of the rural lifestyle and move to big
cities
.
First
 and foremost advantages, by living in big
cities

people
 have more access to public facilities.
On the contrary
, in some rural
areas

people
 are still denied even basic needs like clean water, electricity, and internet access.
Secondly
, public transportation is more accessible in big
cities
 compared to rural
areas
.
Therefore
, it is easier to commute from one place to another without the need for personal vehicles. In rural
areas
, there is hardly any public transportation like buses, boats, or SkyTrain.
People
 need to have their own vehicles to commute.

, and possibly the most important reason is there are more job opportunities. Most big company headquarters, both local and international are located in urban

 so there are more job positions and more variety of jobs for

 to pursue compared to rural

 usually get higher salaries and compensation too which is very crucial, especially for younger generations who wish to solidify their careers, obtain more stable income and build their lives. Despite the obvious advantages, living in big

 have to face especially the ones that lack proper management from central authorities.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.
