You are unhappy about a plan to make your local airport bigger and increase the number of flights. You live near the airport. Write a letter to your local newspaper. In your letter: • explain where you live • describe the problem • give reasons why you do not want this development.
Dear Sir,
My name is Kulwinder Kaur. Here I want to present my point of view on the expansion of our local
airport
with the increment in the number of flights
. Although
it's a good development for government officials according to the natives of this
area, we totally disagree with this
plan.
As I am living nearby Hamilton airport
where more than five thousand population are residing including children and older people. Already facing the problem of harsh noise pollution due to the flights
in the night time when flights
depart and arrive on the runway. If the number of flights
has been increased, the noise will be unbearable, which will directly affect the mental health of the community residing nearby. Besides
,this
will worsen the traffic problem on the roads.
Moreover
, if the authorities will expand airport
property, it will directly result in diminishing the local park next
to the airport
, where all children and old people spend their leisure Time. Due to this
, all the locality members of this
area are totally against this
development. Hopefully, the government will find another plan, which will be in the favour of the locality members.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
