While your friend was away on vacation, you stayed in his apartment. While you were there, you dropped an expensive bowl and broke it. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter - explain what happened, - apologise for the accident, - tell your friend what you plan to do about the bowl.
Dear Mark,
Greetings of the day!
I hope
this
letter finds you well and in good health. The reason for writing this
letter is to let you know that while you were on vacation when I stayed in your apartment, I accidentally dropped the pot which you had kept on the table next
to the television.
I had kept my car keys and because I had to attend to an urgent appointment I hastily took the car keys from the bowl
. Unexpectedly and to my disbelief the bowl
slipped from my hand and shattered to pieces.
I humbly apologize for being flippant and I realize this
bowl
was expensive. After the bowl
was broken, I cleaned the living area and collected the glass pieces and disposed of them safely.
To make up for my careless misdemeanour, I wish to replace the above-mentioned bowl
while going shopping next
time. Please accept my apologies and I will gift porcelain chinaware as a gift, the next
time when I would visit you.
I hope you would realise my mistake and forgive me for having broken your expensive bowl
.
Yours sincerely,
