A friend of yours is going on holiday soon and has asked you to recommend a destination. Write a letter to your friend and recommend a good place for a holiday that you have visited before. • say where you went, • where you stayed, • what you can do there and • what the food was like.

Dear Susan, I hope you are doing great. I'm writing
this
letter in response to your previous letter, in which you asked me about a place that I have visited
last
month. As you know, after my graduation, I went to Toronto with my family. Where I enjoyed some amazing places, namely, CN Tower, Niagra falls and Toronto downtown. Since it was a four days trip, we stayed in the Shine Hotel which is situated at 56 Belmont road. We chose
this
place for night rest, as
this
was near to CN tower, and we did not have any issues commuting. There are lots of things that you can do. You can have an experience of staking on ice, and there is a mesmerising view of Niagra falls where you can have a ride on a boat. Lots of fun, isn't it? I know you are foody, so I will recommend you to visit an Indian hotel where you can eat Biriani as you love spicy food. You are bound to have some western delicious food as
this
place has huge numbers of eatery sites. I hope your trip would be great. If you need any other information
then
please contact me. Best regards, Karampal

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
