Economic progress is arguably
one
of the most important
factors
in determining the success of a nation. In fact, the flourishment of a
country
is highly influenced by its
economy
.
Although
other
factors
are
also
important, I personally believe that a strong developed and diverse economic system is the number
one
criterion to assess a
country
's success. If we take a look at the biggest ten economies in the world, we can see that all of them are considered successful countries.
For example
, The United States, which owns the largest
one
of them, is considered by many as the strongest
country
in the world. The "land of opportunity" is what many people like to call it. Another point to consider is that many people try to immigrate to countries holding better and more powerful economical status as
this
would provide them with better jobs, incomes and quality of life. Another less important point is that bigger economies offer more diverse choices regarding the way someone can live life. Having said that,
however
, money is not everything after all. There are other aspects that are equally important.
For example
, freedom and civil rights are crucial for many people to have in order to live in a certain
country
regardless of its economical circumstances. Politics and international affairs can
also
be detrimental to a nation's fate if not managed properly. Other
factors
to consider are education, the health care system, laws and regulations of the state and environmental issues. All of those can affect and be affected by the
economy
, and all together determine the success or failure of a nation. On the whole, we can say that
economy
and finance can strongly affect a
country
's position and status. They can be affected by other

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
