Some people feel that governments should take a large proportion of people’s salaries to pay for necessary public services such as roads and schools. Others feel that high taxes are a bad thing. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
People
hold different views concerning the method that government can apply to develop the country. Many claims that public areas should be developed by deducting from workers' wages and salaries
, while others opine that the huge taxes are not palatable for people
. In this
essay, both views on the point will be discussed.
To start with, the community can only progress if some part of workers' salaries
is used for social amenities such
as good roads, public parks and schools. Obviously, the public will benefit from these changes and it will enhance the economy of the state. To cite an example, a recent study reveals that 80 per cent of the states that used staff salaries
for social amenities had the best economy. Thus
, this
demonstrates that the authority should claim part of people
's salaries
for the progress of the state.
On the other hand
, the exorbitant taxes on people
make life uncomfortable. Evidently, the money received by staff as wages is minute, and this
cannot be used for daily needs due to inflation which makes goods and services to be scarce and costly. Subsequently
, many people
complain about the situations in the economic system, and they prefer to work extra hours so as to meet up with their needs. For instance
, the price of different goods has increased. I remember that I paid extra money for the bag of rice I purchased last
week. This
made me spend more compared to the last
shopping. Therefore
, for the government to be imposing high taxes is making life unbearable for them.
In conclusion, it is logical to assert that the dividends of workers can be used for public development, the reason that it will be beneficial for all and lead to the progress of the city. On the contrary
, this
strategy is not convenient for employees because the salaries
received are not enough to cater for their needs.Submitted by Ayoqueen on
