You are taking a course at a local college. The deadline for your project was last week but you haven't finished it. Write a letter to your lecturer. In your letter introduce yourself explain why you haven't handed in the project yet request more time to do it.

Dear Mrs Hina, I am writing
this
letter to request some extra week to submit my project which was supposed to hand over the previous week. I am Praveena, a student in the Data Management course which has been taught to you. Since the beginning of the class, I have submitted all assignments prior to the due date.
However
, at
this
moment I am unable to complete it within time, as my mother underwent emergency surgery. On top of that, my father has
also
been sick for the past week
therefore
, I am facing difficulty to find time to complete the project while managing the household chores. In
this
regard, I humbly request to grant 1-week extra time in order to finish the work.
Moreover
, I make sure that
this
type of late submission never happens in the future. I eagerly await your positive response on
this
matter. Yours sincerely, P.Praveena

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
