Your next door neighbour owns a small dog that barks throughout the day and the night. Write a letter to your neighbour requesting that something be done about the dog. Include in your letter: • Your reason for writing • What you would like to happen • A nice, respectful style

Dear Mr John, I am writing
this
letter to complain about your
dog
that is
barking all day. I am Rachel Green I live
next
door. The main reason that I am writing to you is I work the whole day and return
home
late at night to rest. As soon as I enter the
home
I keep hearing your
dog
barking too loud. It really disturbs my sleep at night. I would like you to either show your
dog
to some doctor in order to find out the actual reason for its barking or tie the
dog
in your
home
so that the noise will be a little less for me. Not only my children in my
home
wanted to prepare for their exams
this
kind of sound really disturbing to them from concentrating on their studies. I hope you would consider my situation and the trouble my entire family is facing and do the needful immediately. I am assuming that
this
situation will not affect our friendship and please do not take it personally. I am looking forward to your reply Yours sincerely, Rachel Green

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
