Many believe that to be successful in a particular sport, having a natural ability is more important than training and hardwork. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It is a highly debatable issue whether an athlete should be naturally skilled in a specific sport in order to achieve success. In my personal viewpoint, innate potential and determination are necessary virtues of life that sportsmen should learn. What is
also
important is to consider other factors
such
as passion and willingness to improve. In recent years, we have seen a considerable rise in children engaging in sports activities. One main reason why
this
happens is that they enjoy what they are doing. Being passionate and dedicated in a certain field is likely to make a person succeed. Take an example the Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao who started at amateur boxing competitions but is now a renowned boxing champion in the world. I have seen a lot of documentaries about him and I can say that he really focused on his training and worked hard to earn what he has now.
On the other hand
, some people claim that athletes having a natural ability to do sports contributes more to achieving victory. I could not agree more because for a sportsman to be discovered at something, he should be at least knowledgeable at it or knows how to play the game. It would be hard if someone wants to do sports without any idea of how to do it. Once a person has enough skills in a certain kind of sport, hard work and intense training just come
next
. To sum things up, I pen down saying that, innate capacity is not just a factor to look into. Perseverance, patience and resilience are
also
equally important for an athlete to be victorious in his chosen field.
