Some countries allow old people to work to any stage that they want. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages

In a few developed nations, Elderly
people
have the option to
work
as much as they want without any
age
restrictions.
This
law has been made in favour to support the senior citizens of the nations and for their own well being but it comes with its own advantages and disadvantages. Different countries have different
age
limits for
work
. Some consider 60 years to be the
age
to retire whereas some nations marked 58 years as the retirement
age
.
Although
, that's not the case with advanced countries like the United States or Japan. They have different sets of laws and rules for their older population where they are permitted to
work
without any
age
limit.
This
gives an individual an option to choose and make decisions for his own life whether he wants to
work
or take a rest at a later stage of his journey. Of course, if they choose to
work
then
they have a better fitness level, healthier mind and a choice to interact with different
people
during the day rather than just sitting at home getting lazy and sick eventually.
Moreover
, if they decide to take a job even at an old
age
, they don't have to go to other
people
for their finances or get dependent on the government to provide them aid.
This
will give them confidence and pride to stand in the community and provide them with a way for an easy life. On the other side of the coin, countries which favour retirement at a certain stage argue that working after a certain level can be harmful and deteriorate one’s life. There are many studies which support
this
argument as our body gradually has less energy and strength at an older
age
which in turn can be stressful for an individual if they choose to
work
. Any job at the current time is not a piece of cake and needs proper attention and hard
work
which can prove to be difficult to provide for a person in old
age
. Furthermost,
age
affects our concentration and increases the risk of any uncertainty at the workplace. If a person stops working at the right
age
then
these incidents can be avoided. In my opinion, if any country decides to put an
age
limit for a person to
work
then
they should come up with some policies which can secure their future at a later
age
like some investment strategies which will give them returns when they get old.
Otherwise
, if there are no restrictions in a nation like Japan
then
laws should be amended in
such
a way that gives priority to a person’s health and well-being as well, for ,example special treatment for elderly
people
or having a limit on the number of hours worked by them.
