You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or try to get a job. You think he/she should get a job. Write a letter to this friend. In your letter Say why he/she would not enjoy going to college Explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her Suggest types of job that would be suitable for him/her

Dear Saman, How are you doing? I hope everything goes well after leaving school. I received your letter
last
Friday in which you request advise you on taking a decision either to enter college for higher education or to find a job.
Firstly
, I believe that you may have employment rather than having
further
boring education according to my point of view because I entered high school for
further
qualifications.
Then
it was boring for me after a couple of months. You can have a profession in the construction field as I am engaged. And
also
I remember that your ambition was to be a successful entrepreneur in
such
a profitable field. So I recommend finding a relevant operation and gathering experience. It will be more valuable than collecting qualifications on a theoretical basis.
Furthermore
, I am happy to say that I could find you a suitable profession perhaps.
Lastly
, If you want to take
further
knowledge about the field you could attend a part-time technical course.
This
advice is according to my point of view and you are the person who selects the path. I am willing to meet you on my
next
vacation starting
next
Monday. Best Regards Suranga

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
