You are experiencing financial problems and want to ask your landlord if you can pay your rent late. Write a letter to your landlord. In your letter explain: Why you cannot pay the rent When you will pay the rent. How you will ensure you can pay your rent in the future

Dear Mr Sue, I am writing
this
letter to request you to allow me to pay my
rent
late for the
next
month. I was recently laid off from my company
last
week and since I joined only a couple of months ago, I was not eligible for severance pay. Apart from
this
, due to the coronavirus situation, I am
also
going through some personal financial issues and would really appreciate your support in allowing me to pay my
rent
by the 15th of
next
month. I am currently in process of final rounds of interviews with a few companies and I am confident enough that I will land a job pretty soon. One of the companies is
also
offering me a joining bonus which might help me to pay the
rent
on time, but as of now, I am can not confirm. I can assure you that once I get a job, I will be able to pay the full
rent
, and on time in the future. As I mentioned, a few companies are already interested in my candidature and I am interviewing for a longer-term contract, meaning I will be receiving secured and timely income. I will
also
be able to set up autopay to make sure you receive the full payment of the
rent
well before the due date without any delays. I hope you understand my circumstances and accept my request to pay the
rent
by 15th of the
next
month. Yours sincerely, Yatharth

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
