Happiness is considered very important in life. Why is it difficult to define? What factors are important in achieving happiness?
It is a well-known fact that the majority of
people
's main belief is to be happy. Although
it is very subjective to determine what happiness
is or comes from, there are common needs we all share to experience happiness
. In this
essay, I will discuss both questions using relevant supporting evidence and examples.
Firstly
, defining joy is very challenging because it means different things to different people
. For some people
, happiness
is found in meaningful and loving relationships. For example
, there is a strong possibility for a person to feel truly happy when he has family or friends to offer them care and love. Contrary to the above, due to our consumeristic society, other people
find happiness
in money and material possessions. To put it differently, someone dreams that having a lot of money, a big house and a luxury car would make him happy. Comparing these different views about joy gives us why there is no simple word we can describe with a precise definition.
However
, there are some vital factors that are commonly regarded as the main sources of being happy in life. First
of all, good health is essential for happiness
. Therefore
, if someone faces a health problem, it will likely affect his happiness
.Thus
, a healthy body leads to a healthy mind. In addition
, economic freedom, in other words
, the ability to fulfil the needs in life, is the second
most crucial factor, in my opinion. It is highly likely for a person to lose his contentment if he does not have a safe place to live, proper and healthy food to eat and clothes to wear.
In conclusion, due to the nature of happiness
, it is not easy to describe it in one specific sentence. At the same time, it may be true to say that there are several factors which are mandatory to some extent in seeking happiness
