Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing
this
letter to express my interest towards the most recent posting for the hiring of part-time volunteers who can contribute to the museum. My name is Mandeep and I am a part-time university student at the University of British Columbia. I am really interested to avail
this
part-time voluntary opportunity, as I am always left with a lot of spare time because of my part-time at school.
Although
, it is unpaid work, working for the museum is a great opportunity to enhance my experience in social efforts. which is
further
will contribute towards getting a well-paying job in future. I have a background in computer science, so I am good at Microsoft, Excel and PowerPoint. Which can help in displaying the visual art and craftwork of artists.
Secondly
, I have done art and history course during my school year.
Therefore
I have immense knowledge about the value of artwork and history.
Besides
that,
this
building is close to my house, so I will not be facing problems while commuting to the museum. If you give me
this
opportunity to work for
this
location, I am ready to join immediately. I am available to work Monday to Saturday from 3.00 pm to 9 pm,
however
, I am not available on Sundays. Hoping for a positive response from your side! Yours sincerely, Mandeep Kaur

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
