Some children spend hours every day on their smartphones. Why is this the case? Do you think this is a positive or a negative development?

Kids
nowadays love to spend their time on their
phones
. While
phones
can have a bad effect on
kids
, I personally like to think that we can teach our younger generation how to use them and have a positive effect. Social media is one of the biggest platforms used. We all know the bad side of social media but what we don’t do is that we don’t embrace the good side.
Kids
could learn new hobbies from watching videos of dancing, reading, singing etc. Not only that but they could
also
post and show off their own talents.
Phones
can be used for multiple things, one of the most common things it’s used for is calling and texting. With covid and other infections going around lately, calling and texting help
kids
to have contact with their friends and family. With new technology, we have ebooks which can keep the children entertained but
also
give them knowledge. Children can use their
phones
to find educational videos that will help them understand all the concepts going on in class. We should
also
teach them to click pictures to capture the memories that will help them relive the moment in future. One of the most important things a phone can be used for is quick access to help in an emergency. A kid in trouble could get in touch with his/her parents, the police or the hospital. And with all of
this
, mobiles are good entertainment. To conclude, I say that
phones
can be a wonderful thing if we taught
kids
to use them the right way. With a little restriction and monitoring, we can make sure that it's being used to its full potential and feel the harmful content at the bay, away from children
