Nowadays it is very popular to be technology/internet literate. Some people say that these skills will replace the use of books as main source of information and entertainment. Do you agree or disagree?
With an increase in
technology
development, always more people
prefer to use it as a source of information, instead
of using books
. In this
essay, I will cover this
theme, expressing my agreement or disagreement with this
affirmation.
To begin
with, industrialization and the development of technology
brought an increase in using computers, and e-books
to study and look for more information. In fact, before the rising of the internet and technology
, for instance
, libraries were overcrowded with people
that borrowed books
, and journals. Nowadays, libraries are still overcrowded, but just with people
that go there to use their computer and to read from that. In my experience, even in the underground, I see every day many people
reading, but they don’t do that on paper
books
, but on their kindle. I understand, why they prefer to read using e-books
. It is convenient, faster, it is possible to have many books
, without the weight of them in your bag.
However
, I don’t agree with the statement that paper
books
will be replaced by technology
. In fact, including me, I still know many people
who, even if they have a kindle, still want to read paper
books
and study with paper
and pencil, because they find it more attractive.Furthermore
, for instance
, I know for sure that paper
books
will never disappear because older people
find using paper
books
easier and they hate technology
.
To conclude, even if computers are at the top of use for searching for information, writing an essay, and reading a book, real books
will always survive, because the pleasure that gives a good book, is unforgettable.Submitted by frinfri93 on
