Task 1 You have lost an item of value on a train. Write a letter to the railway company. In your letter describe the item explain where and when you left it say what action you would like the company to take Write at least 150 words.
Dear Sir/Madam
My name is Oleksandr Kholodnyi and I am a client of the transport company which you are in charge of.
I am writing
this
letter for asking help or a piece of advice. Let me describe a problem, please.
Yesterday evening I was returning from the University on a company bus
with route number 628. As usual, I left the bus
at the finish stop and on the way to my home noticed that my bag with a laptop inside remained on the top shelf under my seat.
As I use this
route regularly, I know that my stop is the last
of the workday. I suppose that bus
drove directly to the depot soon. And I hope nobody except the driver could find my valuable item.
May I ask you to check that bus
and the driver on that shift? I can bring a ticket and a description of the bag's contents if it is necessary.
All my documents and study are on this
laptop. I believe this
great company have a founds biuro and you are able to help me in this
awful situation. I will be very appreciative of this
.
I am looking forward to your response soon.
Best regards,
Oleksandr KholodnyiSubmitted by sashko.holodniy on

Structure your letter
A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:
- A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
- The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
- A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)
When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.
All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
