some people think that using animals for experimentation purpose is cruel, but other people think that it is necessary for the development of science. Discuss both view and your opinion.

It is often argued that experimentation done on
animals
is vile and barbaric
while
others believe that it’s essential for
science
to evolve and improve. In my opinion,
although
using
animals
for experimentation may help create breakthroughs in
science
, I believe that it’s extremely cruel to do so on innocent
animals
. Those that support in doing experimentation on
animals
cite several reasons for
this
.
Firstly
, there is a misconception among many people that
animals
do not feel emotions like
humans
.
Furthermore
, in some
animals
, the DNA is similar to that of
humans
and is a great source for finding solutions to many unanswered questions
such
as finding a cure for various illnesses.
For instance
, most lab experiments are done on mice, which have the closest similarity to that of a human’s DNA, and
hence
produce the most accurate results. For these reasons, people believe that it is the only way for
science
in improving the world by providing solutions to every problem.
However
, many disagree and feel that conducting
such
experiments on
animals
is cruel and unacceptable and I agree with
this
.
Animals
are sentient beings and feel excruciating pain much like
humans
when they are exposed to
such
torture for the sake of developing the field of
science
. Many
animals
are exceptionally intelligent yet are still treated like mere tools by mankind. A recent study found that pigs have an intellect of a 5-year-old and have high problem-solving skills.
Moreover
, the brutal tests conducted on
animals
may end up in detrimental results which would even cost the lives of the
animals
. In conclusion, using
animals
for testing may help improve the lives of
humans
but it is not fair that the
animals
have to endure
such
pain and suffering for that. I believe it is more humane to find better alternatives for
such
purposes rather than instilling pain in those innocent beings.
