In some countries, prison is seen as the solution to crime. However, some people believe that giving people a better education is a better way to prevent them from committing crimes. To what extent do you agree or disagree with these ideas? Give your opinions based on your knowledge and expeiences.

In recent times, crime has increased all across the globe and many countries have implemented strict rules of imprisonment for criminals to solve
this
problem. People have contradictory views on
this
, as they think that improving the
education
system of the country will stop crime from happening in the first place. I believe in the latter part of the statement because
education
is the most powerful tool that can help criminal minds change their thought process and give them the
right
path to follow. There is no one who is a born criminal, it is the lack of teachings and guidance which leads them to choose the wrong paths in their lives. Proper
education
can help
such
individuals to channel their energy into positive things. As per a Netflix documentary on prisoners, it was observed that most of the offenders don't even know the basic difference between
right
and wrong because they had no one in their lives to guide them in the
right
direction. As it has been rightly said that " an empty mind is a devil's den".
Education
keeps the mind busy and
also
help individuals in learning the
right
set of skills that can help them to make better career for themselves.
For instance
, many countries have prisons where different skills are taught to the prisoners and
as a result
, they turn out to be good citizens
at the end
of the course and there is an instant change in their behaviour as well. To encapsulate, imprisonment is an important law in place that helps in the security of society but criminals should be treated as humans and they deserve a good
education
system which can help resolve the crime from its roots.
