What are the advantages and disadvantages for children of watching television? Discuss both sides.

The rapid development of technology has significantly diversified our methods of entertainment, and watching
TV
is one of the great examples.
This
behaviour is
also
spreading among
children
. Some people criticise that watching
TV
is detrimental to
children
's development,
while
others indicate that there might be
also
advantages. In
this
essay, we will discuss the opinions from both sides.
To begin
with, folks who are against
children
watching
TV
believe that young students could get distracted when they spend too much time on those modern technologies which ultimately would impact their performance of study negatively. There is research indicates that students who watched hours of videos will get distracted easily during class, in comparison with others.
Additionally
, it is fact that
children
have poorer self-control than adults and they do not know when to stop.
This
causes an incremental rate of getting shortsighted
along with
youth.
Nevertheless
, every coin has two sides. There are individuals who believe watching
TV
can help teenagers to broaden their views. By watching the videos played on
TV
,
children
are able to obtain acknowledged
such
as foreign customs and cultures.
Moreover
, there are many educational programs on
TV
. Compare with learning in school, kids are usually more willing to learn from the media which contains sounds and images
instead
of words only. In my opinion, watching
TV
does bring advantages but the limitation of hours to prevent health issues is necessary. If parents could find a balanced amount of time for their kids to use media, it would be beneficial.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
