The diagram below shows the life cycle of a salmon, from egg to adult fish. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The diagram illustrates the
life
cycle of a salmon which is a cyclic process happening in two different geographical locations.
Overall
, this
cycle contains 08 different stages
where the first five stages
will be occurring in the river and the final stages
will be happening in the ocean. First,
an egg is resulted by the process of spawning in an adult salmon. Then
, it undergoes an incubation period until the baby salmon are emerging. These fingerlings will be staying near the freshwater nearing until they grow and then
travel to estuary rearing. All of the above-mentioned stages
of life
were based on the river.
Once mildly matured, they will migrate towards rearing areas in the ocean where they grow to become the optimum size and finish the process of maturation. These adult salmons will then
travel back to the rivers where they will spawn to produce another life
so that the life
cycle is continuous.Submitted by Nimz
