Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of unisex school

While
some people consider that
students
studying in single-gender
schools
are able to perform well in their academics, many argue that co-education
school
is better for a child's social development. In
this
essay, we shall discuss some of the benefits and drawbacks of same-sex education. It is often considered by many that children will be able to focus more on their academics and career when studying in a single-sex
school
as there will be fewer distractions compared to mixed
schools
.
Students
, especially teenagers, tend to lose interest in their studies. They get attracted by the opposite sex and get stuck in early relationships. Classrooms of same-gender
students
avoid
this
. It
also
decreases gender stereotypes. Teachers are
also
able to provide proper teaching techniques as the way of learning is often quite different in boys and girls. They are
also
able to bring more discipline to their pupils.
However
, mixed
schools
are gaining a lot of popularity these days. Even though all-girls or all-boys classes create a relaxed and comfortable environment, it is different in the real world where men and women have to interact and work with each other. Since they are used to interacting only with the same gender, it creates awkwardness and people feel uncomfortable being around the other gender. It
also
creates a feeling of insecurity. In conclusion,
schools
play a key role in the social development of a child. Whether studying in a mixed
school
or a single-gender
school
, it is important to keep the
students
focused on their academics and career
while
also
developing their social skills. Institutions should conduct inter-
school
competitions and try to reduce gender-based competition.
