The charts show the changes in ownership of electrical appliances and amount of time spent doing housework in households in one country between 1920 and 2019.
The line graph provides information about the percentage of houses with electrical equipment over the period of 100 years. The other graph delineates the total of hours of household chores
such
as washing clothes, preparing meals and cleaning per week. At first glance, it is clear that
the number of electrical utilities in each household has significantly increased and, finally
it led to a sharp decline in housework hours.
Looking at the first line graph in detail, the refrigerator was less used compared to the vacuum cleaner and washing machine in 1940. However
, it experienced a considerable rise and succeeded to become the leader with 100% usage at each house by the end of the timescale. Vacuum cleaner had a steady rise starting at 30% and ending up at 100%. The washing machine had a 20% increase just to slightly drop to 50% and then
climbed back to 65%.
While
the number of houses, where several electrical appliances were used activity, the statistic of housework had a sharp decline from 1920 to 1960. In the beginning, the everyday chores per week were 50% and then
plummeted to only 10%.Submitted by uluga2002 on
