Some people think that keeping pets is good for children while others think it is dangerous and unhealthy. Discuss both views and give your opinion

Some people suggest that keeping
pets
is great for
kids
whereas
others believe
otherwise
. In
this
essay, I shall discuss both standpoints and give my own. First and foremost, owning
pets
can be very beneficial for
kids
' mental well-being and growth development.
For example
,
kids
can play with their
pets
during their leisure time or when their parents are at work.
This
will ,
therefore
, keep them entertained and accompanied throughout the whole day and not make them feel lonely which will be favourable to their mental health. On top of that, they will spend more time in nature as domesticated animals often like to be outdoors.
Besides
, being away from screens is essential for their growth development since it allows them to socialise with others
while
walking their
pets
and eventually form bonds with individuals who have similar interests.
On the other hand
, some parents believe that having
pets
is unhealthy and harmful for their
children
. Parents' worries are exacerbated by the fact that
children
typically do not maintain a healthy hygiene routine.
Kids
should wash their hands after playing with cats,
for instance
, but in fact, most
children
do not follow
this
degree of hygiene. On top of that, it can
also
be dangerous for the
kids
if their animal companions scratch them as
this
will expose them to various animal infections,
such
as rabies. In my opinion,
children
benefit greatly from owning
pets
. I encourage
this
since it will teach
children
to take care of their
pets
properly. It shall
also
teach
kids
love and empathy, two things that are lacking in
this
world.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
