Nowadays, parents are allowing their children to use tablets and smartphones to enhance learning. Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

In
this
digital era, the
use
of technological equipment is increasing at a very faster pace. Guardians are allowing their
children
to
use
mobile phones and tablets to improve their learning methods. The outcomes of
such
practice have definitely been more beneficial which will be discussed in the following paragraphs. Certainly, there are many advantages to allowing offspring to
use
smart gadgets for their academics. The prominent one is that they will learn through modern learning methods which were not possible before. Explaining in simple words, learning through rich graphical user interfaces helps
students
to grasp faster and better as compared to other traditional methods.
For instance
, a video
along with
3D animations and VFX is likely to be remembered for a longer time.
Moreover
,
children
will spend more time experiencing
such
technological equipment which is very important in today's time. Another benefit worth mentioning is that the education system will be fully organised.
In other words
,
students
will be able to complete their work before deadlines as there will be facilities for reminders and notification systems.
Furthermore
, there will be facilities for monitoring student improvement and precise stats will be provided. To exemplify, I recently took an online course on an online website called Coursera and it was so well organised
such
as deadlines, weekly task assigning, regular notifications to get back on track, etc.
In addition
, involving some competitive software interfaces will encourage
students
to compete with their classmates, which will be very beneficial to the
children
.
On the other hand
, there are a few disadvantages which can not be ignored.
Firstly
,
children
will have full access to smart
devices
and they might carry out activities which can divert them from their studies. In simple words, they might play games or surf on different websites which will hinder their progress and can be addictive.
Secondly
, relying heavily on
devices
comes with the consequence of health problems.
For example
, continuous
use
of technological
devices
can have a bad impact on the posture and eyes of
children
. In conclusion,
although
there are a few disadvantages to allowing
children
to
use
smartphones and tablets for learning purposes, there are outweighing advantages which should benefit them to a great extent.
Hence
,
students
must be allowed to have access to
such
devices
with proper supervision so that they do not get diverted.

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 250 words in writing task 2. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long essay will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 260 to 290 words in writing task 2. This will ensure a concise essay and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 40 minutes to write the essay and you need around 10 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long essay in 30 minutes.
