Write a letter to the editor to give your opinion about a magazine that you purchased. Include Why you bought it What you liked and disliked about it Suggestions for improvement
Dear Editor,
I recently purchased a copy of
technology
monthly from a local newsstand. I am writing this
letter to give you an insight into the recommendations to improve it. I am a passion-driven technology
geek. I purchase the technology
monthly for the same reason.
I really appreciate the quality and authentication of the material provided in these editorial issues.
I can get hands-on complete information on the new technology
evolving around the world and specific details on new gadgets, new tools and new industry-wise development are commendable.
However
, there are a few weak points of the magazine
. The length for example
is too short for my liking. The data is accurate, but there are grammatical mistakes that one can spot throughout the articles in the magazine
. The frequency of the magazine
is also
less than it should be as readers are sometimes left deprived of new information.
I would like to make a few suggestions for improvement. First,
I would suggest trying out the bi-monthly affair; so that recent data can be a part of the magazine
, the proofing should be made better by subscribing to the new artificial intelligence tools and the number of pages should be increased from 20 to at least 35 pages in one published issue.
Thank you for hearing me out,
Regards,

Structure your letter
A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:
- A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
- The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
- A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)
When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.
All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
