Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer. Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter: • suggest how you could help her in her home • say why you would like to do this work • explain when you will and will not be available

Dear, Mrs Barret My name is Simon, and I am writing
this
letter in connection with your advertisement that you are looking for a helper to help you with what needs to be done for the upcoming summer.
To begin
with, I would like to explain what kinds of proper skills to support you do I have. First of all, I have experience for the past 5 years with old people who need hands in many ways like doing laundry, doing grocery shopping, and cutting the grass.
Moreover
, I am good at cooking in various international versions like Asian and Western. The reason why I apply for
this
job is that I need time to practice speaking English with a native English speaker for taking an IELTS exam to enter college next year.
Lastly
, I would like to say that I am available to help you on weekdays and weekends between 9 am to 5 pm. I am looking forward to hearing from you. yours faithfully, Simon

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
