Several languages are in danger of extinction because they are spoken by a small number of people ,some people say that government should spend public money on saving these languages ,while others believe that would be a waste of money. Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Some less common
languages
are on the brink of disappearing.
While
it is believed among some people that it would be a waste of
money
to protect them, I would argue that the government should spend
money
on saving less common
languages
. There are several reasons why people think it is a waste of
money
.
Firstly
, they believe governments must expend
money
on education or the health care system because education and healthy life are two basic needs of every citizen and the government’s priorities.
Secondly
, spending
money
on protecting these
languages
cannot be very practical, since nowadays parents tend to teach a
language
, which is widely common, rather than less common
languages
.
For example
, In Eastern countries like India, English as an international
language
is taught by parents to children as an accepted educational
language
rather than their local vernacular since they argue it can help them to find a better career in future. Despite the above argument, I will argue that authorities should try to preserve all
languages
, whether they are common or less common. It is important because
language
is a valuable asset inherited from our ancestors to us, and more than a simple means of communication, it has been a way of transmitting history to societies. In
this
way, governments, by spending
money
, not only prevent the extinction of these
languages
but
also
protect different cultural and historical values which are linked to these
languages
.
For instance
, consider an old historical book written in a less common
language
. If people do not have a good understanding of that
language
, they cannot use that important content.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
