You recently discovered that there are plans to build a new airport in your area and you are not happy with it. Write a letter to the local authority. In your letter, • Say how you found out about the plans • Explain what problems your neighbourhood will face • Suggest some possible solutions to those problems.
Dear Sir or Madam,
The purpose of writing
this
letter is to officially launch my complaint regarding your plans
of building a new airport
in our neighbourhood. Firstly
, I am highly dissatisfied with the fact that I had to know about your plans
through my teenage children during our evening catch-up moments and they knew about it while
surfing the web. We have council meetings every fortnight and it wasn't mentioned at the last
meeting which was held last
weekend, this
is an indication that the council chairman has not been duly informed within the past week. I think it would have been more appropriate to let your supposed host community know about your plans
before publicizing them over the internet.
Secondly
, our area is a very quiet one which is the major reason a good number of us chose to live here and building an airport
here will not only constitute noise pollution, it will also
intensify traffic congestion. There is an airport
situated about fifty kilometres from our estate and I honestly do not think having another one close by is worth the while
considering the gross discomfort it will result in. I will suggest you do some findings about that airport
to ascertain if it could accommodate your facility for the good of all of us who live here.
Thank you and I hope you reconsider your plans
.
